Rioja Age Classifications

Here's Mark from Paul Marcus Wines talking to us about Rioja aging requirements. Extra credit for answering this question: Does "Reserva" really mean anything?

yes outside of the US, especially in Spain and Italy, Reserva/Riserva does mean something. Reserva designated wines must age for 36 months with 12 months of "wood" treatment.

CSW in action! :)

cheers B

I like his attitude. Each wine has different complexities and each is to be enjoyed within its context. Thanks for digging this up, B.
